Public meeting is Monday night for Northshore Drive bypass project

Persons interested in the proposed Northshore Drive Bypass Project in the McCook Lake area should note there is a meeting they may want to attend about the project on Monday evening.

Dunes residents asked to report vandalism when they see it happen

The Event Center in the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sioux City North was nearly filled to capacity Monday night with Dakota Dunes residents. They were there to hear about increasing issues of vandalism and related juvenile misbehavior in The Dunes from law enforcement and security officials. It’s just what Riverside and North Sioux apparently needs: another dollar store. More specifically, it’s a brand, spankin’ new Dollar Tree at 4140 War Eagle Dr. And they’re already advertising for employees, in case you are interested. Dollar Tree will join their sister store, Family Dollar, which already is in the Riverside neighborhood of Sioux City, at 2200 Riverside Blvd. There are also competing bargain retail dollar stores close by. Hold the phone! A new 5G antenna was just installed on the Dakota Dunes water tower.

By Gary Dickson Drivers on Sioux Point Road and Dakota Dunes Boulevard may have been straining their necks trying to figure out what is being done to the Dunes water tower this last week. There was a boom and a person doing something to the structure. Was the tower being painted? Is there a leak? What else could be going on? Actually, it was new telecommunications equipment being installed for T-Mobile. More specifically, the company is upgrading the current 4G cell tower with a 5G one.
