Siouxland Observed #2: Where is it and what is it?

Okay, since no one was able to guess where the first of our “Siouxland Observed” photos was taken at, (Look at the bottom of the first Siouxland Observed story for the answer to that one.) here’s a second one.

This one was taken further north than the first image. I would think that those of you who are golfers would be able to guess what it is and where it was.

The answer and the names of those guessing right will be printed here on Thursday morning. Good luck.

ANSWER:

Four people guessed the correct location of the photo and what it was. It is the bridge that crosses the Big Sioux River at Two Rivers Golf Course. It used to connect the golf course to the old clubhouse on the other side in Iowa.

Those with correct answers were:

  1. Steve Warnstadt
  2. Scottb1958
  3. William Welch
  4. Bobbie Levindofske

    1. I’m not sure where Bambooe is, Bobbie, but I’ll give you credit for your answer since the bridge does go over the Big Sioux. It’s the bridge that goes over the river by the Two Rivers Golf Course in South Dakota to the former club house on the Iowa side. I think it’s close to the Missouri River Boat Club which might also be called Bambooze. That said, I’ve never known why they call it the Missouri River Boat Club since it sits on the Big Sioux. But congratulations on your answer.

  1. That is the bridge leading from the Two Rivers golf course in South Dakota (the old Boat Club) to the former club house/ locker room on the Iowa side. I know because my first job was serving the members there. Dave Adams lived in the house and was the Club pro.

Steve Warnstadt Thumbed from my Mobile Device

  2. I’m guessing the Two Rivers Golf course. Almost thought it was the foot bridge connecting Perry Way to Clark school just north of Country Club golf course.
    Really enjoy The Siouxland Observer!
