Okay. Now we all know this is an excavator. Or a shovel. Whatever you want to call it. And it’s sitting in the middle of a muddy construction site. But the big question is just where is that construction site?
There is a lot of construction going on northwest of the confluence of the Big Sioux and Missouri Rivers and west of Hamilton Boulevard in Siouxland. This particular site is one plenty of people would drive by on their way to and from school or work every day. In fact, you might even find this excavator sitting in about the same spot right now as there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of progress at the construction site since the day I took this photo.
Good luck reflecting on where this might be. Go ahead, shovel on your best guesses. I’ll let you know for sure where it’s at on Saturday. T-T-F-N!
Aw shucks! Looks like nobody guessed the location of my excavator photo. Although Jules was really close. She said it was the new Dollar Tree Store on War Eagle Drive in Riverside. But if she had headed back up east on War Eagle to the Goodwill at 3100 W. 4th St., then looked across the street to the left, she’d have found it. The excavator sits on the construction site of the new Goodwill Mission Services building which is expected to open in early 2025. The site is currently behind a chainlink fence.
Let’s see if folks can do better the next time.

Site of the new Dollar Tree on War Eagle Drive in Riverside ?
That’s a good guess, Jules. But I’m afraid it’s not correct.
